The 8 Connective Essences
Join Regina Jones and Aviva in the refreshing
art of being here now

How can we connect our body and mind and feel
our spirit when they are being pulled in a million different directions?
A bit of McGyver meets Thoreau, if you will. Let's explore eight
spiritual touch points, which connect us with the essences of each
other and ourselves.
Choose the slow way.
Miraculous examples of the way of life are provided by nature herself.
Plants take time to ripen to harvest...slow, real time. Each creature
lives a full life cycle according to its kind. Even in the gracefully
slow death of elephants, as they journey to their own graveyard,
we see time and slowness. The slow way provides a richness that
embraces and warms our spirits. Technology creates the illusion
that slowness is a burden, when in fact the simplicity of it keeps
the heart open and connected. Many so-called advances have brought
a feeling of being over-stimulated and overwhelmed. Think inbox.
1. Skip the automated dishwasher, turn on some great music, and
slowly wash the dishes, savoring each aspect of it: the warmth of
the water, the feeling of cleaning, sloshing and clinking... everything.
Be amazed at how rejuvenating this is for you each time you do it.
2. Cooking a meal really slowly is both nutritious and delicious,
not to mention enriched with more conversation, laughter and love.
